I think you will be safe to set aside the urban folklore legend of these being "pickle jars" and just accept most all were made specifically to be just decorated vases.  Secondly, almost all were made by the Indiana Glass co. in Dunkirk,  Indiana. They were made in as many as four different color variations and in two heights.  Any names assigned are those which have assigned from time to time by collectors.
